HOW TO ENJOY WINTER ALL SEASON LONG

1.  DOWNHILL SKIING

Whether you are a novice or an expert, you can enjoy the slopes at some of the best ski resorts in Michigan. One of Michigan’s favorites is Alpine Valley located at 6775 Highland Road in White Lake, right off M-59. One of the largest terrain parks, Alpine Valley offers a variety of freestyle terrains for all skill levels. It’s time to hit the slopes!

2.  SLEDDING

Spending too much time indoors? Bundle up the kids and take them out for a day at Civic Center Park and Historical Village at 40700 Romeo Plank Road in Clinton Township. Open from 8 am to 8 pm, it’s free to the public and a great way to spend the day with the whole family. You’ll enjoy the thrill of a huge sledding hill and a historic village to explore. Get out those toboggans and let’s go sledding!

Fishing in winter? For the die-hard fisherman, fishing is not just a warm-weather sport. Grab some local coffee and head off to enjoy the serenity of a day ice-fishing on Kent Lake. Located in Kensington Metropark in Milford, this 1,000-acre lake is one of Michigan’s popular ice-fishing spots. Drop a line and bring home your catch of the day!

5.  HIKING

What better way to experience the season than spending a day outdoors? Visit Ann Arbor’s Barton Nature Center at 1010 W. Huron River Drive. Hike one of the many trails found in this 100-acre park and experience the sights and sounds of winter. You’ll find nature offers a special treat when weather conditions are just right – a beautiful frozen waterfall!

6.  BUNDLE UP AROUND THE FIRE PIT

After a full day of seasonal activities or on a sunny afternoon, why not relax with family and friends on your backyard deck. Sitting around a fire pit, sipping hot apple cider, roasting marshmallows – all are great ways to enjoy the season from the comfort of your own home.   It can be the perfect end to a busy day or the entirety of your day’s activity!
